OD&D - Mapper 2 - Session 1
A second Mapper, Joiray, sets out in search of potential Treasure Sites. What will they find out in the Wilderness…
On Stuwhar, the 2nd Day of Ignisar, the Mapper Joiray sets off to explore a rumoured Treasure Site.
With clear weather and an almost direct route to the known location, they easily find the site. There were no signs of any threat, and they managed to forage for some food and water.
Some lucky rolls. A roll of a 2 on the movement roll meant they could turn once a Movement. That meant, the Mapper could easily get to the Treasure Site in 5 moves. With the potential 6th Move null and void as it would go into Mountains (which cost 3 Movements). There were no Random Encounters and a Roll of a 1 on the Rations die, meant the Mapper would get full Movement for the next Day…
As Ijirq, the 3rd Day of Ignisar approached, Joiray got their bearings and managed to get back to civilisation with a Map to a lucrative Treasure Site!
Again, very lucky rolls! To find out what potential Treasure would be found at the Site, I rolled page 23 of OD&D Monsters & Treasures using the Maps table. After finding out what the map leads to, I rolled the following:
65 Gems, 3,000 silver, 15,000 gold, Scroll of Protection: Elementals, Potion of Clairaudience, Dagger +1 vs. Man-Sized Opponents, +2 vs. Goblins and Kobolds, Scroll of Projected Image, Ring of Spell Storing.
A Mighty haul indeed!
So, all that remained was a roll on the Lost Die, which didn't come into effect. Movement roll, which ended up being the same as the previous day and they were able to leave the board with no issues!
Joiray presented their Map to a patron, Egoth, who was mightily impressed with the potential treasures at the Site. After paying for the map, the patron asked Joiray to find and map other sites.
The Mapper, keen on finding more sites, agrees and will set off again within the sixday.
Egoth has an idea of who they can commission this map to, and sends word for their Adventuring Party, The Conclave of Egoth.
This was a short session, maybe 30 minutes (it took longer to work out the treasure!). I'll find out when the Conclave of Egoth will set out, probably a d6 roll from when the Mapper returned to civilisation.
I hope you like this style of a Session Report. I'm still experimenting, so let me know if you like it this way or if you'd prefer more mechanics thrown in.

Very nicely done! Looking forward to more!
This is a great mix of narrative and mechanics. Looking forward to following along.
